How to use DAGRIS...
  1. To browse or search the database:
    1. Click the Browse link to navigate through selected breeds filtered by species and/or by breed name
    2. Click the Search  link to search for a breed or bibliographic record in the database.
      1. to search breeds by species, breed group , breed name and common name
        • select a species name, breed group name.
        • enter breed name and/or common name/synonym to search for in the Breed Name textbox.
        • click the GO button to see the result.
      2. to search breeds by country
        • select/fill the fields indicated above, if required.
        • select the region name and country name.
        • click the GO button to see the result.
      3. to list breeds by specified risk level
        • select/fill the fields indicated above, if necessary.
        • select the risk level.
        • click the GO button to see the result.
      4. to list all species and breeds in the database without filtering
        • click any of the GO buttons without selecting or filling any of the fields.
      5. to search bibliographic records
        • enter the name of a known author, title, publication year or keyword.
        • click the GO button to see the result.
      6. to search trait record of breeds
        • select species name, trait category, trait name and trait value fields 
        • click the GO button to see the result.
  2. To display pre-set summary tables:
    1. Click the Tables link and click the required link to see summary tables.
    2. Currently there is only one summary table, Population data for African cattle, sheep and goat breeds.
  3. To get detailed information of a breed:
    1. click the breed name link on a search result or summary table screens to display the general breed information.
    2. click Images, Traits data, Trait Summary, Distribution, Population, Information sources or Weblinks buttons , to display the respective details of the selected breed.
