Special Characteristics:
Coat colour is variable, with red and black pied animals being commonest; horns are present in males, and in only 5.6% of females; male horns are loosely spiralled; ears are medium, broad and pendent (Wilson, 1991).

Main Location:
Confined to southern Togo (and adjoining parts of Benin), in the Vo, Aneho and Tabligbo districts; the environment is subhumid to humid with a long uni-modal rainfall; the production system is peri-urban (Wilson, 1991).
Origin:
Developed from interbreeding of the Djallonke and Sahel sheep, particularly the Uda.
