Sukuma
Special Characteristics:
Horns are medium to long and crescent-shaped; small hump; small dewlap with thin skin; coat colour varies between red, grey roan, light dun and solid red; used for milk and meat, but also for work (Rege and Tawah, 1999).

Main Location:
Limited to Tanzania, in Sukumaland, a region south of Lake Victoria on the eastern border of Mwanza and north-eastern parts of Shinyanga, an area covering Seke, Lalago, Nyalikangu and upper Semu river.
Origin:
Developed out of interbreeding of various breeds of Tanganyika Zebu and the Ankole Sanga of Rwanda-Burundi and southern Uganda.
